TürkçeThe memorial building of the Mahn- und Gedenkstätten Wöbbelin was established in honour of Theodor Körner. The patriotic poet was fatally wounded on August 26, 1813 during a battle in the Napoleanic Wars of Liberation.
Since 1965 the fate of those who perished in the concentration camp near Wöbbelin at the end of World War II have also been commemorated. On the same area where Theodor Körner was laid to rest, there have been buried nearly 160 of the more than 1000 victims of this concentration camp.
